A Life Designed With Intention
Hi, I’m LaLa— though some know me as Lauree.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been captivated by beauty. Not just how it looks, but how it feels. I believe the spaces we live in should reflect who we are, hold what we love, and give us life. Whether people are fully conscious of it or not, we truly do draw countenance and sustenance from the atmosphere around us— and that belief is at the heart of everything I do.

My design work is a co-creation— with my clients, with my Creator, and with the materials and moments that inspire me. It’s spiritual. It’s personal. And it’s always filled with heart.
My Journey (So Far)
After graduating from design school, I packed my bags (and my favorite textiles) and let my creative path lead me through Dallas, New York, and Los Angeles. Each stop added new layers to my love for interiors, art, and storytelling through space. Eventually, I returned home to New Orleans and opened Artifacts, a home and art gallery on Magazine Street, where I got to blend design with my love of original pieces and soulful objects.
When it was time to raise my boys, I shifted into full-time interior design, helping clients throughout Louisiana create homes filled with warmth, elegance, and meaning. Then, after 20 beautiful, busy years… I felt the mountains calling.
And when the mountains call, you listen.
From New Orleans to Highlands Plateau
I moved to Glenville, North Carolina to slow down, breathe deeper, and begin a new chapter rooted in peace and purpose. What started as a personal relocation quickly became something much bigger: the beginning of LaLa White Interiors.

Now based in the heart of the Cashiers/Highlands design community, I work with clients from across the Plateau and beyond, offering full-service design, and a curated collection of upholstery, artwork, and collected pieces from around the world. And hopefully someday soon— virtual design services.
​
I also paint original art and source one-of-a-kind furnishings from places like Morocco, Turkey, and India, infusing each space I design with a sense of story and global soul.

My house is very cabin bohemian with every color under the sun... of course put together with balance.

I still paint, and you’ll often find my work on display in local galleries or in our shop.

Meet Jim. With over 30 years of experience in professional sales and leadership, Jim brings a steady hand, a servant’s heart, and a deep love for helping others succeed. His career path was shaped early on by the influence of his mentors— and rooted even earlier in a family legacy of community impact, thanks to his parents and grandfather, who ran a local newspaper and served in public office.
